Islands in a Dream is our dream coming to life by taking small steps. Starting with Café Ohana, our pop-up coffee shop and a few catering events to one day dream vacation homes on multiple islands.

In 2020, a fifteen-year old Téhani expressed her desire to own a café similar to the ones she visited while living on the island of Okinawa. Excited by her passion and also with a dream to one day have a food truck or café serving foods from the wonderful places she had visited, Kanani encouraged her to think through this idea. In a cute vacation home, Téhani and Kanani crafted the idea of Islands in a Dream. A café that would serve island inspired food and transport our guests to the island of their dreams.

In 2023, Kanani introduced the idea of a pop-up coffee shop at a cute location in downtown Omaha to Téhani and Genesis. Together they developed the plan that is now open on Saturdays at 1901 Leavenworth St within the beautiful Dry Spokes.
